Movies to See : May 0
We are starting a new monthly segment called Movies to See (or not see). Basically we just highlight all the movies in the next month that you should see, provide the trailer, a little information about each movie and have a little opinion written by each of our authors who want to contribute! Sometimes we omit movies from the list but these are merely ones that seem far too unimportant or ones that are universally understood as awful. All release dates are the American ones.
As a side note, all the trailers are supplied courtesy of Apple trailers and there were a slight few kinks in embedding the sexy, high resolution trailers into the post so if there is a broken video just refresh once or twice and it should fix itself.

Virtual Pig Dissection… Fuck yeah! 0
Found, and posted in Biology class. Here is an entertaining wesbite that allows to participate in the mutillation of a pig fetus for the purpose of science.
As an added bonus there is a passage on the first page of the dissection which reads like a warning to someone entering a dungeon. Its quite hilarious.
“A warning before entering the Virtual Pig Dissection - Be aware that clicking the link will open up a new browser window that will look different than the window you’re used to seeing. This has been specifically designed to do this and there is nothing wrong with your monitor. We are in complete control. We control the horizontal, the vertical, and the browser. We control all that you see and hear. Prepare yourself for, the VPD.”
Fucking intense.
Blizzard to Uwe Boll: Shove It Up Your Azeroth 8
It’s nice to know that the Blizzardvision merger hasn’t turned Blizzard into a cash whore. Uwe Boll, who is quite possibly one of the worst directors of all time (there is even a petition to get him to stop making movies), went to Blizzard recently looking to get the rights to make a World of Warcraft movie. Paul Sam’s quoted reply was “We will not sell the movie rights, not to you… especially not to you,”. It looks like we are all safe from another Uwe Boll eye rape fest for the time being.

No Unreal for the Wii 0
Epic games (Creator of the Unreal Tournament games and Gears of war, as well as the incredible Unreal Engine) have said that they won’t do any development for the Wii before now. But this time, they’re coming out and lashing out. “We go forward, not back,” Mike Capps (President) says. The reason for this is, as it always has been with Epic, that the Wii is underpowered compared to any other current console (and debatably some older ones). This time, Mike adds that the Wii is something that is fun to play for a while, and argues that its purchase is based on “OMG THATS COOL I WANT ONE” type mentality. In his opinion, this means people will play it for a few months then get bored.
Speaking from personal experience, Yes, that is exactly how it works with almost every game I have played on the Wii. Daring the wrath of many, I would say that Twilight princess (like most other Legend of Zelda games) has very little replayability. The same goes for Metroid Prime 3. The only games that I’ve found can be played consistantly are Guitar Hero 3 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The other games I’ve seen are, by and large, shovelware crap put out to trap soccer moms into paying for some terrible game covered in the banner of some other, more successful franchise. The fact that the only games worth playing are made by the same company that makes the console, this doesn’t bode well.

Spinal Contusion Simulator 09 0
Haha. Just kidding.
This is actually a tech demo for a game they call “Backbreaker”. No joke.
Basically it’s a football game with a highly interactive tackling system that uses, as you can tell from this video, some rather advance physics simulation; making each and every bone crushing tackle your personal masterpeice.
I just stumbled across this randomly and I think i’ll be sure to follow up on this… it looks interesting because I have a slight interest in football and a HUGE interest in great physics engines that cause pain.

Ebay Considers to sell Skype 2
Personally i never thought that Ebay’s purchase of Skype in the first place made much sense and i guess they are figuring that out now as well. Their purchase of PayPal in 2002 makes a lot of sense as almost all of the transactions going through the site go through PayPal, but not so much for Skype. I’m hoping that Google picks up Skype, either to integrate with Gtalk or to build into Android.

Holographic Storage Coming in May! 0
After years of hyper, holographic storage is finally shipping next month. It’s coming from InPhase Technology and the retail price for the reader is $18,000 and $180 for one piece of media. Each piece of media has 300 GB of storage which makes it great for archival. You can read more about how it works over on ZDNet.
