So I was randomly browsing and found some things I thought all you might enjoy.

Team Fortress 2 Spy kit Soundpack - Basically, as I would think, ALL of the sound effects for the spy? And the best part, they aren’t 5 minutes long, like some other soundpacks would have, so it is possible to use with MSN and not hate your life.

Starcraft Sets Soundpack - About 5 different sound effects, but the only one I particularly enjoyed was the nuclear launch one.

Metal Geat Solid - Probably the most suitable MSN noises so far, and just cool. Too bad there’s only like 6.

Final Fantasy Soundpack - Once again, the only one I think can be used for MSN without cutting it is the victory sound effect xD

Age of Empires Soundpack - That is if you want to annoy yourself to death, you’re most welcomed to. This will assist.

Warcraft 3 Soundpack - This can be hilarious if used for the right cause.

Worms Armagedon Soundpack - something personally I would enjoy, but…. in spanish?

Penny Arcade Winamp Skin - I don’t know how many of you would be using winamp, but very and very nicely done from what i saw

Castle Crashers Winamp Skin - Well, what more can I really say.

Sooo some productive minutes of boredom

[App - Linux] GM-Notify View Comments

GM-Notify is a “highly Ubuntu 9.04 integrated Gmail Notifier” that is mainly written by Alexander Hungenberg. It takes advantage of the new and nice notify-osd and indicator-applet. Because of this it won’t work in any versions of Ubuntu older then Jaunty(aka 9.04) or any other Linux based operating systems(Unless you have managed to work in notify-osd and indicator-applet, of course).

You can download GM-Notify off of Launchpad. A .deb file is available for those of you who don’t want to compile any code

[App - Windows] Growl for Windows View Comments

Growl for Windows is, well quite simply, the Mac’s (amazing) Growl notification system but for Windows! It’s not the same team as the one behind the original Growl, but they have permission to use their name and logo. After installing the software you will need to download plugins for each of the programs that you want to use it with. A few plugins are currently available on their website and a bunch more are coming soon!

Growl for Windows is currently in beta so it’s feature set and API aren’t finished yet but the developers are working on a full API.

Thanks to Lifehacker for the heads up and the screenshot.

Intro to Applications View Comments

Sorry for the terrible title for this first post, but it needed to be called something! Basically i’ve taken it upon myself to start writing little posts about different applications for the Mac, Windows, Linux and even the occasional Web App. I use all four of these commonly, my main desktop is a Mac, i’ve got a netbook running Ubuntu, a desktop running Ubuntu(Considering the switch to Arch), servers running CentOS and i’ve got Windows(XP Currently, going to switch to Windows 7) set up with boot camp on my Mac. Basically, i use every major operating system that’s out there. So i think i have the qualifications to write about applications!
Each post is going to be titled something along the lines of
[App - Type] App Name
To keep things simple for all our readers I’ll also be putting the posts under their proper categories. Going to post about two applications today, Growl for Windows(Obviously a Windows App) and GM-Notify(For Ubuntu Jaunty!). Watch for those posts to pop up soon!
