Gibson Robot Guitar 0

An amazing and much needed invention in the guitar world from the wonderful Gibson. Named “The Robot Guitar” this baby tunes itself to any tuning it is given by the push of a button and a strum of the strings. It also makes changing strings much less of a head bashing operation as it brings the string to proper tension then tunes. But that’s not all. For all you guitar savvy readers out there who understand this next bit, it also tells you if the intonation on the guitar is out and how many turns of the screws on the bridge are needed till the intonation is perfect. What more could a guitarist ask for?

Ra Ra Rasputin 0

Music video and the lyric of Rasputin by Boney M

There lived a certain man in Russia long ago
He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear
He could preach the bible like a preacher
Full of ecstacy and fire
But he also was the kind of teacher
Women would desire

RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia’s greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on

He ruled the Russian land and never mind the czar
But the kasachok he danced really wunderbar
In all affairs of state he was the man to please
But he was real great when he had a girl to squeeze
For the queen he was no wheeler dealer
Though she’d heard the things he’d done
She believed he was a holy healer
Who would heal her son

(Spoken:)
But when his drinking and lusting and his hunger
for power became known to more and more people,
the demands to do something about this outrageous
man became louder and louder.

“This man’s just got to go!” declared his enemies
But the ladies begged “Don’t you try to do it, please”
No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden charms
Though he was a brute they just fell into his arms
Then one night some men of higher standing
Set a trap, they’re not to blame
“Come to visit us” they kept demanding
And he really came

RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
They put some poison into his wine
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia’s greatest love machine
He drank it all and he said “I feel fine”

RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
They didn’t quit, they wanted his head
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia’s greatest love machine
And so they shot him till he was dead

(Spoken:) Oh, those Russians…

Death Cab - Narrow Stairs 0

Narrow Stairs
Death Cab for Cutie’s new album, Narrow Stairs, was released on May 13th 2008. I’ve listened to it pretty heavily this last week and i must say, i love this album. I have liked a few of their songs before but was never really into them that much. This album completely changed that. I like pretty much every track on this album, not just one or two like it is with most albums. They sound sorta like a weird blend between the Barenaked Ladies and Radiohead on this album and it’s very enjoyable to listen to. I definitely recommend buying this album to anyone who is into this kind of music or if you like the track below, which is the music video for the track “I Will Possess Your Heart”. Read more »

Parody music better than actual songs? 0

Im not sure many of you have heard of an “internet person” named Jon Lajoie. He showed up on the internet quite a few months ago and produces a hilarious video every two to three weeks. I personally am a huge fan and this is why I’ve decided to share some of his videos with you. Also, he’s Canadian which makes his comedy an even greater achievement.

This is his hilariously hideous new website. All the videos can be found there or on any video sharing site. Although peronally I find 90% of his work very, very funny, I believe this guy really shines when it comes to creating original songs. Some of the songs he has made are among my favourite songs to listen to in itunes; and I actually seriously treat them as real music. Now I am not going to embed all the videos he’s ever done because if you are interested you can just go to the website. What I am going to do is show you his greatest work to date, some songs so awesome you’ll want to visit the website just to get the mp3 files for your own personal listening pleasure.

This was the first song of his I listened to, and it remains one of my favourites.

The next song that took my interest was the second “everyday normal guy” It was instantly my new favourite song and I found myself humming it everywhere.

Here is where it gets absolutely fucking awesome. I LOVE this song. I cannot stop listening to it. It is the catchiest shit ever, and it has some very, very, very clever lyrics that fit the flow of the song better than something coherent might.

The three songs above are my favourites but the next three songs below are equally as grand and all deserve a listen at some point. Especially “High as Fuck”. That is a wonderfull song that I’m sure you all can relate to. OOOoooh, and “Cold Blooded Christmas” is also a genius song. Infact, “Song for Britney” is the only song that isnt perfect.
